Umeå-based biotech company QureTech Bio has appointed Helén Fält as its new acting CEO, replacing Fredrik Almqvist, one of the company’s original founders.
“We have recently secured significant new investment and so it feels like the perfect time for Helén to come in and develop our business even further,” says Fredrik Almqvist.
Umeå Biotech Incubator (UBI) has been nominated to for the Västerbotten Grand Prix 2018 – an award celebrating the contributions of a stakeholder who “through their actions promotes Västerbotten nationally and internationally”. Among the other nominees are Umeå Institute of Design, Northwolt, Rise Interactive and Nolia.
An all new call for “Collaboration projects for better health” will open in December 2018. The strategic innovation programmes Swelife and MedTech4Health join forces to support development and implementation of highly innovative solusions that can contribute to better health, prevention, diagnostics, monitoring and treatments of disease. The budget for 2018 is 130 M SEK and projects can apply for up to 3 million SEK per project.
Hiloprobe AB has signed off on a partnership deal with a group of public and private stakeholders who have come together to back this high-potential startup. Hiloprobe is now complemented with much needed business expertise – as Mattias Pettersson from Northern Light Capital joins the board of directors, The company aims to launch their product for improved colorectal cancer diagnosis by 2020.
