Umeå Biotech Incubator (UBI) has been nominated to for the Västerbotten Grand Prix 2018 – an award celebrating the contributions of a stakeholder who “through their actions promotes Västerbotten nationally and internationally”. Among the other nominees are Umeå Institute of Design, Northwolt, Rise Interactive and Nolia.

This nomination is hundred percent in line with our mission statement and overall aims – which is why we are extra happy and humble when reading the flattering statement for being selected as a nominee:

Nominee: Umeå Biotech Incubator (UBI). Nomination statement:

“During the last years UBI has contributed to making a mark by highlighting regional assets and the life science field in Sweden globally. The regional biotech cluster is thriving with growth and fellow institutions are watching. UBI walks the talk. They are agile and self-innovative to constantly adapt to the needs of the region and it’s companies.

By doing so, they’ve increased the opportunities for regional life science startups to build sustainable enterprises who chose to develop locally and stay in the region.

UBI has focused hard on creating a sustainable incubation process which is transparent to all audiences. This has contributed to the fact that today, the share of women leading an incubator case is över 47 percent.”

We do not need to add anything. That motivation says it all. Let’s walk the talk, work together and then we will succeed in bringing Umeå to the world – and the world to Umeå.
