Umeå Biotech Incubator is situated in the silver science-park-building on the east side of campus in Umeå. Formerly the facility housed AstraZeneca and Symbicom and the tradition continues as new generations of Life science businesses grow and prosper.
The lab technician at UBI is the go-to-person for our resident cases and tenants when questions arise regarding equipment, work space or laboratory issues.
– Our incoming cases require a lot of help while getting established in our labs and offices. We work together to create the best possible environment for our startups to grow, says Lisa Lundberg, the current Lab and Community manager at UBI.
Goal to facilitate and develop the life science community
The position is not only managing facilities and equipment, but also to be in charge of developing the entrepreneurial community in Västerbotten. The aim is to facilitate collaboration, create mutual value and synergies between researchers, innovators and new and experienced life science companies in our field.
– The thing I love the most about our community the energy and drive to make a difference. Our efforts really contribute to the progress of our cases and we see positive effects of having so many like-minded innovative people working in one place, says Lisa Lundberg.
Friendly community with high ambitions
The incubator offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with the aim to make everyone feel welcome. The ambition is to become the best life science incubator in Europe, and the staff work systematically to improve and adapt processes to the needs of future customers and clients.
The successful applicant will work closely with the entire UBI team; the CEO, the business coaches, our communications manager and our financial support. Together the Incubator team designs, develops and provides valuable services supporting researchers and entrepreneurs – so they can focus on core activities and expertise.
