Almost all biotech companies need to raise external funding, to cover the cost for development. It takes time and hard work to raise capital and the importance to have good investor relations cannot be underestimated. If you do not have your own contacts, one way to get connected with investors is via investor conferences and booking partnering meetings.
To plan and be prepared before meetings and perform in an informative way is a key to get to the next meeting.
After the meeting, time shall also be spent on delivering the material you promised and keep the interested investors informed during time. This seminar will cover these topics and you will be given hands-on tips and the possibility to interact with the speakers and ask questions.
Helén Fält has over 30 years of experience in the life science area, both from research and industry. She has researched in the field of medical chemistry and pediatrics, worked primarily with proteins as a research engineer in a startup and at AstraZeneca. She has worked with small and large companies in her role as project manager for contract manufacturing of clinical trial pharmaceuticals within APL. In her current role as a business coach at Umeå Biotech Incubator, she uses her broad experience and network to find expertise and funding to support growth of early startups within pharmaceuticals, medical technology and diagnostics.
Marek Poszepcynski joined SV Health Investors in 2013, working as an equity analyst for International Biotechnology Trust plc. His primary role is to analyse companies, with a particular focus on identifying potential M&A targets. Marek has more than 15 years of international experience in the life sciences industry with a focus on licensing and financing. He held management positions at Handelsbanken (2010-2012) as lead equity analyst, VP Business Development at Karolinska Development AB (2008-2010) and Licensing Director at Biovitrum AB (2002-2008. Marek has participated in two initial public offerings and a number of licensing and asset transfer transactions and received the Swedish Entrepreneurial Distinction 2015 through the founding, running and divesting of a profitable Contract Research Organisation.
Johan Tamsen is senior consultant and partner at Wildeco Financial Communications. Since graduating at Uppsala University in 1993, Johan has worked as consultant within investor relations and PR. He has also acted full time head of investor relations for listed companies.
