The UBI company Nil Medical AB has been selected as a finalist in this year’s Medtech4Health Innovation Award for the Vestpack, a solution designed to make everyday life easier for children and young people undergoing medical treatment.
Umeå-based Nil Medical was one of eleven Nordic HealthTech companies chosen for the Propel International Boot Camp – an accelerator programme in the Yorkshire and Humber region of the United Kingdom. The boot camp was designed to provide a faster route into the UK market and offer expert support on the British healthcare system, legal frameworks, funding, networking and market growth.
Nil Medical AB has received its first external investment – from Barncancerfonden Impact Invest AB, a newly established impact venture launched by the Swedish Childhood Cancer Fund.

Nil Medical AB is currently seeking a Sales Manager to support its continued growth and international expansion. The ideal candidate will bring global experience from the medical technology sector and play a key role in building the company’s commercial organization.
Growing demand for the Nil Medical Vestpack has prompted Umeå-based Nil Medical AB to expand its leadership team. Malin Walfridsson, former Head of R&D at Nordic Biomarker, has joined the company as COO and Deputy CEO.
Nil Medical’s medical infusion vest, the “Nil Medical Vestpack,” is being tested at five hospitals in Sweden as part of a clinical trial. Now, the company is looking to hire a Business & Sales Manager.

For seriously ill children and adolescents, intravenous drip stands can significantly hinder mobility. Umeå based Nil Medical has developed an ergonomic medical vest that conceals fluids, pumps, and tubing within the garment, allowing for unrestricted play and movement.
A national quality-of-life study is underway, in collaboration with Swedish healthcare, and Nil Medical aims to introduce the vest to the international market.
