Moss innovator from Umeå joins Global leaders at UNCCD COP16 in Saudi Arabia

From December 2-13, Daniel Pacurar, an eco-tech innovator from northern Sweden, will join global leaders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for UNCCD COP16, a climate conference focused on combating drought and desertification. Daniel has been invited to hold a seminar to present his innovative re:moss concept.

Interview: Boreal Orchards contributes to solutions for new EU legislation

On June 17th, Boreal Orchards delivered their first batch of moss primer to Kiruna as part of the re:moss project. That same day, the EU Council adopted the Nature Restoration Law, the first comprehensive, continent-wide legislation of its kind. The law sets binding targets and obligations for EU member states to rehabilitate at least 20 percent of the EU’s land and sea areas by 2030 and all degraded ecosystems by 2050.

New collaboration hopes to make the most out of moss

The Umeå Biotech Incubator-backed ‘Shades of Green’ project, developed by Boreal Orchards, has created a moss that can be used on buildings, infrastructure and for the regeneration of nature. Now founder Daniel Pacurar is collaborating on a new development project with RISE Processum AB and Ecohelix to maximize moss establishment with the help of by-products from the paper pulp industry.
