Two business coaches from Umeå Biotech Incubator will head to the Nordic Life Science Days in Malmö on September 18-19. Their schedule is already packed with 22 pre-arranged meetings with a range of investors and potential partners for UBI’s 17 ongoing cases.
“We’ve lined up meetings with a mix of new and established contacts, both from Sweden and internationally,” say Pia Keyser and Tobias Tovedal.

NLS Days is the largest annual life science partnering event in the Nordic region and Umeå Biotech Incubator regularly participates to showcase its portfolio of cases and companies within the incubator. With meetings booked in advance, UBI’s inbox has been buzzing with interest.

“We’re thrilled to have such a busy schedule, we have three more meetings that we are trying to find time for, so we might end up at 25. This time, we’re focusing solely on investors and have decided to decline meetings with service providers,” explains Pia Keyser.

So, what’s driving the increased interest in UBI?
“I believe it’s down to our strong reputation. By meeting us, investors can gain insights into several of our cases,” says Pia Keyser.
“It’s exciting to have so much on our plate, and we’re hopeful this is a sign of positive things to come,” adds Tobias Tovedal.

In addition to the two business coaches, three UBI-supported cases/companies will also be attending NLS Days, though their meetings aren’t included in the 22 scheduled for the business coaches:
CryptoSafe, led by Christian Hedberg, is developing a treatment for cryptosporidium.
NanoBio Select@, with Thomas Wågberg and Xian Li, focused on creating highly sensitive detection devices.
Vakona, headed by Sofia Mayans, working on an antibiotic-free treatment for acne.
