How did you get the opportunity to be part of this delegation?
”I was simultaneously contacted by Business Sweden and Västerbotten Chamber of Commerce (Västerbottens Handelskammare) who invited Boreal Orchards to be part of this delegation and also covered part of the cost”.
You visited Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia. What did you learn?
”This was the Swedish first ever “triple-country” trade mission and Boreal Orchards with re:moss were represented among the 24 companies.
“The three countries we visited in a five days marathon have tremendous economic potential and annual growth of 5% and above, targeting double digits. In economies that focus on this kind of growth often nature protection and restoration is often not in focus. However, our re:moss concept was well received and follow-ups and potential projects are already being discussed in the three countries focusing on urban greening applications. Restoration of mining and quarrying is a potential area of interest we will explore as well.
“We will see if this leads to concrete projects, but when we decide to establish an outpost on that part of the world, this back-to-back visit of the three countries gave me valuable information on what is possible”.
Did you get any valuable business connections to follow up?
”This was a fantastic oportunity for us since I think a startup entering a marked, disregard of how good or needed its products or services are sheldom, if ever, has the oportunity to conect at this level. Meeting with leading organisations in each countries, chambers of comerce, world bank representatives, the embasies, governor of Bangkok, and other high level representation gave the companies in the delegation acces to extreely valuable contacts and insights into the respective countries, and good exposure as well.
Can you tell us how you made the headlines of a prestigious Vietnamese newspaper?
“Yes, following an interview recorded durring the reception offerd by the Sweden Embasy in Vietnam, my statement “If the land is degraded, smartphones are meaningles” was used as a headline to the introduction of the article that reported on the Swedish delegation”.
“Within the same article statemens were made by H.E. Johan Ndisi, Sweden Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E. Mrs. Adrienne De Geer, honorary consul of Sweden to Vietnam, Marcus Persson, Country Manager Vietnam Business Sweden and Aron Emilsson, Swedish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee”.
