Drug development projects are often initiated by identifying treatment for a disease. The project usually contains a deep knowledge of the disease and the biological mechanism. However, in order to develop a drug for the disease, a broad knowledge of many different areas is required. This three-day course provides insights into all the parts that should be addressed to effectively target a drug project. Now with a more prominent Nordic perspective in the lectures, to fit wherever in the Nordics the drug developing activities take place.
This course is available as a traditional and as an online course. Traditional participant also have the opportunity to add lectures online. The course is organized in cooperation with SwedenBIO.
Who should attend?
The course is aimed for those involved in drug development (eg in small and medium-sized companies), and needs a comprehensive picture of the complex development chain. During the course you will get insight into how to work in the different stages of development, what to think about and what pitfalls there are on the road. To get the most exchange of the course, it is an advantage to have a natural science background.
This course’s main focus is on small molecules.

All lecturers have experience from drug development and most have worked with or in small drug development companies.

Localation
Depending on restrictions in May due to the pandemic, we will either sit together in a large conference room in Umeå or you will participate individually from home. Decisions will be made one week before the start of the course.

Price per person SEK 8,000 excluding VAT (regular price: SEK 11,200, Sweden Bio member: SEK 8,300)
- Incubator cases (where no company has formed): 100 % grant
- Incubator companies until incubator phase Växa: 100% grant (Government support: De minimis).
- Companies in Växa or alumni: 50% grant (Government support: De minimis)
If you register for this course and then do not complete it, UBI will send you an invoice a fee of SEK 4,000 per person in No-show fee, regardless of whether you are a case or company.
