It began as a spin-off from Umeå University. Ten years later, Prediktera is a global player in hyperspectral image analysis – and is now celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Prediktera, a leading developer of software for hyperspectral image analysis, has over the past decade grown from a research-driven initiative into an international technology partner. The company was founded in 2015 by Andreas Vidman (CEO), Oskar Jonsson (Senior Developer), and Fredrik Pettersson.

Aim to keep driving innovation
Prediktera’s software technology enables companies and researchers around the world to rapidly analyze materials, strengthen quality control, and streamline production processes. It is used across a wide range of industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, mining, agriculture, and recycling, where the demand for data-driven material analysis is increasing rapidly.

“Our ten-year journey has been remarkable – from early research to becoming a global actor. We are proud of what we have achieved, but even more excited about the road ahead. Our ambition is to keep driving innovation, building strong collaborations, and making hyperspectral technology accessible and valuable to many more industries,” says Andreas Vidman, CEO of Prediktera.

Two new employees joining the team
Based in Umeå, the company currently employs seven people, and the future looks bright. Revenue grew by 42 percent between 2023 and 2024, from SEK 5.8 million to SEK 8.25 million, and two new colleagues will join the team in the coming months.

“The demand for hyperspectral technology is growing rapidly, and our goal is to continue expanding. We are constantly looking for curious and driven talents who want to be part of shaping the future of spectral imaging,” says Andreas Vidman, CEO of Prediktera.
