re:moss – A Game Changer for Heavy Industry
• The Technology: A scalable, technology-driven framework designed to grow native moss species cost-effectively. This “moss primer” is deployed to stabilize and restore areas heavily disrupted by industrial activity, post-mining operations, and post-fire degradation.
• Proven Traction: Supported by Vinnova and four major mining companies, re:moss is actively being deployed in Sweden and is recognized as a potential new standard for the global mining industry.
• Global Reach: Founder Daniel Pacurar has been invited to present the re:moss concept on the world stage, including at the UNCCD COP16 climate conference in Saudi Arabia to combat drought and desertification, as well as at major business and technology showcase events across North and South America, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
symbios – Restoring Boreal Ecosystem
• The Technology: A targeted initiative focusing on innovative solutions to restore vital reindeer lichen populations across Fennoscandia and North America.
• Funding & Partnerships: Backed by SEK 15.5 million in public-private funding, this four-year project brings together eight partners—including four mining companies (one of which is Canadian) and the Swedish Sami Association—to effectively and sustainably restore reindeer lichen in disturbed mining landscapes.
