Biotech-business Idea competition 2011

The Umeå Biotech incubator Business Idea Award is designed to stimulate entrepreneurial activity and greater awareness of the resources available to help life science researchers in Umeå. All winners will be selected on an objective basis as determined by the criteria set forth below.

Who can enter the Competition?

The Competition is open to all participants who meet the following criteria:

•  The plan must be an original idea for a business start-up potential.
•  Business ideas are limited to the life science field; for example biotechnology, green technologies, medical, bio manufacturing, agriculture and agri-products, and bio-engineering.
•  Contestants cannot be directors, officers, or employees of the UBI. Consultants or freelancers who do business with any of the above are also disqualified.
•  If the contestant is part of a company, the idea must not be part of that company's ordinary operation. The idea should clearly be a spin out from that organisation with the objective to start a new spinoff company.

How and When can I enter?
Study the Official Rules and complete the Competition Application Form and
submit between 10 February and 31 October 2011.
